_DIANE BROWN President
_I have lived by Warner Park for 27 years,
intentionally choosing the Northside over other Madison neighborhoods
when we bought our home in 1985. Through the years I have enjoyed
volunteering for Northside schools Mendota, Sherman, and East High; Dane
County TimeBank's Northside Kitchen Cabinet and Board of Directors;
Sherman Neighborhood Association; the Northside Planning Council and
Board and their Food Enterprise & Economic Development (FEED)
kitchens project; St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and St. Francis House
Campus Ministry; Habitat for Humanity; and Meals on Wheels. I look
forward to offering TimeBank my organizational and event management
skills and enthusiasm for helping people help each other. By day, I am
the Outreach and Events Manager for the national, non-profit,
professional membership organization, The Association of State
Floodplain Managers, who I have been with in varying capacities for 30
years. Prior to that I was a Personal Banker and a Recreational
Therapist. My husband Mike Klitzke is a flood specialist working
disasters throughout the U.S. and my son Loren Watson is a theatre stage
technician and sound designer in Milwaukee. My leisure pursuits include
travel, cooking, entertaining, boating, reading, knitting, and family
time. Always active in the community and my church, my life philosophy
echoes that of Sir Winston Churchill, "We make a living by what we get,
we make a life by what we give."
